Meeting Vets without Borders Volunteer Izabela
Today I met the Vets without Borders volunteer from Toronto, Canada!
CARE Connects Us
I met Izabela this week because she is working at CARE for a few months. Vets without Borders is a Canadian government NGO. She will work in Comms and help them brainstorm how to make Comms more creative and engaging. She will be here from February to the end of June. She is Polish-Canadian, which is super cool!
Today we went to PVO for bahn mis and then to a cool place called Kung’s Café for coffee and desserts. PVO was great as always. (I go here a lot for their chicken bahn mi! It has pulled chicken, a honey mustard-like sauce, a slaw, cilantro, carrots, and cucumbers on it.) I always sit by the fish tank, and today was no different.
I had never been to Kung’s before today. I had fried bananas with a coffee/chocolate sauce. I don’t drink coffee, so of course I didn’t have any of that. Izabela said that their coconut coffee was fantastic though! (They dry their own coconut in-house and then crush it into a powder that they put in the coffee. You can’t buy this stuff in a store!)

We sat at this cute table by the mural
We also took some photos at Kung’s because it’s just so charming.

Just me!
I hope that we spend time together and become friends. Izabela seems really cool!
